He gets off way to easily after all the stuff he says and does to Saint. It's a pity it comes at Saint's expense since he has to forgive Braxton, yet again, for his terminal case of foot-in-mouth disease. He should have been left alone, but I guess by Chapter 22, they had to have an HEA. He definitely doesn't deserve the love Saint has for him. He knows Saint's own insecurity about his worth and utters them carelessly anyway. "The last thing anyone needs is another Saint in the world", words he says to Saint almost at the end of the story, show exactly how awful this man is. Saint deserves someone better than a man who insists on judging him because he's wealthy and not willing to hide it. Braxton has a huge inferiority complex that manages to morph into a sneering judgment against the wealthy. His hypocrisy and lack of trust for Saint make him a very unreliable character whom I don't like at all. His reaction to his stepfather and his recognition that he resents him rests on the same kind of shallow judgmental attitude that we see when we first meet him passing judgment on Saint and costing him over $1000. Braxton shows himself to be shallow and immature on far too many occasions, making me wonder why Saint is even interested in pursuing anything with him. The relationship between Saint Caldwell and Braxton Grant is problematic on its own because the reason for the way their working relationship begins shows Braxton in a really poor light and doesn't exactly do Saint any favors, either. My response to this story is mostly negative. What a terrible, judgmental man Braxton is! But when my own insecurities about my self-worth threaten everything we could have, I’ll need to find a way to move past them.or I’ll lose the best thing to ever happen to me. Saint fits in with my family, my step-father loves him, and the chemistry between us shows no signs of stopping. We’re total opposites.can we really make it work for more than a night of pleasure?Īt first it seems perfect.

I’ve spent my whole life working towards this moment, and I can’t let myself fall for his good looks, no matter how much I crave him.īut long hours and close quarters are a combination neither of us can resist, and soon heat at the office turns into a wicked night in bed. But there’s more to the man than a showy Porsche and killer smile. Unlike me, he’s never had to struggle for anything a day in his life.or so I think.

One arrogant, materialistic, flashy problem: Saint Caldwell. He’s smug, conceited.and hot as hell.īecoming a partner at Caldwell and Holton will be the crowning achievement in my hard fought career.
